Bach makeover

After 10 years at their holiday bach the backhouse family decided to make the bold move and paint the walls and paint over the existing polyurethane tongue and groove ceiling, brown beams and balustrades of the living room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. They also replaced the 1980s avocado coloured basin, bath and toilet and bamboo print curtains. They wanted an uncluttered streamlined and contemporary look which they hoped to achieve with a fresh white paint colour. They perused different paint charts for the the most suitable white, choosing Resene Rice Cake inspired by the natural environment and its eco-friendly image.

The all white colour scheme gave the rooms a soothing, fresh and bright feeling of space. The living rooms are decorated with whimsical ocean-themed art that they have collected locally and overseas from the black corrugated bathing suit to the multi-coloured Aboriginal art, all adding colour and texture to the room. Heavy white cotton drapes and white wooden Venetian blinds complete the contemporary look.

The Resene paint colour Resene Rice Cake makeover has renewed the bach now giving a dramatic impact and feeling of space that invites everyone to slow the tempo and relax.
