Toy town no moreThe exterior of the Johns' family home was in desperate need of repainting. It had mismatching yellows, red windowsills and green guttering - a bit like living in toy town! And so began the long and difficult process - not the preparation and the painting, but choosing the right colours. They wanted to use Resene Lumbersider as they had used it before and were impressed by its quality and durability. And they wanted a bold colour. With such a fantastic palette of colour to choose from - why pick white? The first task was to find the same colour as the brown aluminium window frames to paint the wooden frames to match. It's tricky to find a solid paint colour to match a metallic surface but eventually Liz found it - Resene Kilamanjaro - wonderful deep grey/brown that was perfect. For the walls, Liz wanted red. With a myriad of testpots she went from magenta to orange, fuchsia to burgundy. Finally she found the one - Resene Raging Bull - a luscious red with a hint of deep orange. It complemented the Resene Kilamanjaro and looked stunning against the natural green backdrop. And now that the work is complete, the home looks great and thoughts of toy town are banished.
