DynamiteStripping wallpaper is a long tiring job and it is disappointing when after you have done all the hard work the paperfaced plasterboard underneath is damaged. Believing that they might have to get all new walls, handy advice from their local Resene ColorShop staff convinced them to try using Resene Broadwall Surface Prep instead to even up the walls before painting in their favourite colours. Originally Resene Dynamite was going to be a feature wall, but they liked it so much that three walls were finished in this colour complemented by a fourth wall in Resene Half Sisal to ensure the room didn't feel too overpowering. Aiming for contrasting window frames they painted them in Resene Olive Green. This contrasts well with the Resene Dynamite while also blending in with the trees and greenery outside. The fireplace surround was painted in Resene Makara. Keen to keep the rocky look of the stones, the Resene Makara was mixed with Resene Olive Green and white to give it a natural look of shadows and highlights. The new tones bring life into the room including uplifting the neutral furniture that once looked dull and now looks like a natural part of the space.
