Rejoined

For 14 years, the Cross family lived in a divided house with half being used by their family and the remainder used as a home for their mother-in-law. Last year she moved into a rest home so it was time to put the two pieces back to the original one.

The master bedroom was relocated from its previous location directly off the sitting room. This gave room to extend the sitting room and create an office, with lovely views over the garden and to the hills behind Oxford. The office features an old railway carriage door and new glazed window, offset with three walls of Resene Double Sisal, a feature wall of Resene Lusty and a colourful Moroccan rug.

The old beams in the sitting room were finished in Resene Half Sisal complementing walls of Resene Sisal and a feature wall of Resene Lusty. Original sofas were re-upholstered in a coral shade, which tones beautifully with Resene Lusty and brightens up the whole area. A dark brown carpet, Feltex Karaka, anchors the colour scheme.
