Encouraged by colour

Karen had painted over a dark brown feature wall in the master bedroom early last year after feeling everything was beige and brown. She wanted to brighten up the house after having safe monotone colours throughout. Karen used Resene Ming to go with her new bright duvet and it gave an elegant tropical feeling with a rich colour that spurred her onto refresh the whole house.

She went for whites through the rest of the home with main walls in Resene Double Sea Fog, ceilings in Resene White and other walls in Resene Double Sea Fog, a light warm grey, for contrast.

The doors throughout the home are in Resene Triple White Pointer to bring a depth and break from all the plain walls. Karen had considered Resene Triple Sea Fog but it didn’t seem to be enough contrast to the Resene Double Sea Fog walls. The shop assistant was able to suggest Resene Triple White Pointer which looks a bit more beige against the light grey but works well as the carpet can look grey in some light and brown in others.

Karen has received a lot of positive encouragement for the painting she has done - not a small task with four large bedrooms, a lounge plus a family room.
