The good life

Over the last seven years, Annabel and her partner have poured love and energy into a Californian bungalow in central Nelson.

Exterior bungalow

A soft palette of colours gently rolls through the home, with Resene Double Rakaia in the kitchen, Resene Tasman in the dining room, Resene Half Truffle in the master bedroom, Resene Half Rakaia in the nursery, Resene Quarter Stack in the sunroom/small bedroom and Resene Half Rice Cake in the hallway. The Resene Rice Cake family is continued on the exterior with Resene Half Rice Cake, teamed with Resene Grey Friars trims and a Resene Clockwork Orange front door.

Friends often ask the colours used. Both love colour - and have gone for a modern palette, which provides a soft backdrop to a mix of old and new furnishings.

Escaping Auckland for the good life in sunny Nelson, they bought this house when their youngest was a toddler. Since then they’ve had two more children, and recently decided to move closer to school. They put this house on the market and received overwhelming feedback from friends (and complete strangers), especially thanks to the Resene colours we have used throughout the house! The home sold to Aucklanders in just over a week, a new family to enjoy their escape from the big city.
