A piece of the overall picture

stained glass inspiration

Summer holidays gives you that time and good weather to 'take on' projects. And for Marg, that meant it was time to paint the decks.

Marg has four areas of decking around her dwelling, each previously painted in Resene Toffee. This time she chose Resene Cinnamon. It has created a sharp, warm look to those areas. Marg left the front edges of the decks as they were and the Resene Toffee edge makes the deck seem more pronounced.

Then of course, once you freshen a piece of the overall picture, other areas look drab. So, at her front door Marg painted the architrave Resene Alpaca. This colour complements the stained glass door feature at her entrance because it relates to the pink glass in it. The next and final area to be painted was the door itself. It had originally been painted in Resene Monza. Marg had liked this colour but since she was freshening up the area she decided to 'amp up' the red look opting for the deeper red of Resene Jalapeno. This colour was continued onto a new side door too.

Thanks to Marg.
