Favourite blues

After going around lots of show homes to get ideas and being given advice to start with a neutral palette that you can change once you have lived in the house, Jo and her family decided to go against this advice and inject some feature colours. They wanted something to offset all the white that was going into the bathroom, bath, vanity, tiles etc and after spotting the fabulous graffiti art in town Jo was inspired by the blue colourings.

They fell in love with a soft shade from the Karen Walker Paints collection called Resene Quarter Powder Blue. Jo then painted two stools in colours from the same range to tie in with the colour scheme, using Resene Clouded Blue and Resene Periglacial Blue.

The children's bookshelves have been created from Ikea spice racks painted in Resene Space Cadet, Resene Lochmara and Resene Resolution Blue.
