Style wise Lindsay wanted a ‘new old house’ with a hint of French provincial. They have achieved this with the distressed look in several places – the cupboard in the lounge, fireplace, pantry shelves and shutters in one of the upstairs bedrooms.

Outside the house is finished in Resene Biscotti, Resene Leather and Resene White. The shed that houses the barbecue is bold and bright in Resene Bonfire.

The main bedroom is finished in Resene Awash, which reflects the seaside location of the house, while the main guest room is Resene Pale Leaf furnished with French inspired accessories. The third bedroom is in light Resene Half Orchid White with shutters distressed in Resene Kumutoto, Resene Orchid White and a touch of metallic silver.

The Resene Half Orchid White continues into the main living area with Resene Double Biscotti and the entrance with Resene Kumutoto for matchlining. The entranceway colour scheme is designed to match the chandelier, which is out of the box for the first time in 36 years since being bought in Venice.

The kitchen is finished in Resene Buttermilk with selected areas distressed using Resene Buttermilk, Resene Double Biscotti and Resene Half Orchid White.
