Monarch Café
The Monarch Café in Pukekohe has returned to its roots in search of the right colour combination to re-introduce the original building style into the café atmosphere.
The menu of changes included a full interior and exterior repaint over old substrates of paperfaced plasterboard inside and external plaster and weathered concrete outside. Resene Lumbersider tinted to black makes a strong statement on the exterior painted areas contrasting against the reddened brickwork. The black and terracotta blended exterior is welcomed inside with Resene Zylone Sheen tinted to Resene Tuscany (terracotta) combined with Resene Zylone Sheen tinted to Resene Haystack (straw toned neutral).
The low odour of Resene Zylone Sheen allowed the café to be quickly repainted and returned to service without upsetting the appetite of the regulars or the sales of the owners.
