Agnes Water Honeymoon Villa

The actual building was constructed at Caloundra over a period of seven weeks. It was built by Gateway Constructions which is a non-profit organisation committed to providing opportunities for young people to rebuild their lives by training and guiding them in the process of building. Once the villa was completely built at Caloundra it was moved in three parts by a semi-trailer truck to Agnes Water and positioned on the site sitting directly on the beach. It was then reassembled.

The next stage of the process was to dress the interior and exterior with furniture, soft furnishings as well as a fully operating kitchen and BBQ area.

The building was to be positioned very high on the sloping sand dunes. A palette of Resene Black with Resene Alabaster trim to crisp it up was chosen to help the honeymoon villa look very classy and smart without being garish. Timber decks ground the colours. The Resene CoolColour finish was used with great success and was much needed given the intensity of the sun in that part of Queensland.

A similar palette continues inside with Resene Double Alabaster on most surfaces, joined by Resene Half Alabaster on ceilings and a feature wall in Resene Black.

With a short time frame to complete all the work, it was very helpful to have a builder whose answer to everything was ‘of course it can be done’.

The Honeymoon Villa is in great demand and has added to the ambience of the friendly family holiday park.
