Arrow International Office

Arrow International is a New Zealand owned company with offices throughout the country and in Australia. The theme for the front of the new offices was a sophisticated urban ‘mountain’ hut, appropriate to Arrow as they foster a culture of outdoors activities and nature conservation. Their directors love the outdoors and often take staff and clients into the depths of Fiordland for New Zealand bush experiences.

The result is a contemporary and spacious open plan working environment, suited to the requirements of Arrow’s modern operations and providing for the needs of their Christchurch staff and clients.

To achieve this sophisticated urban ‘mountain’ hut look and creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, we have used natural materials but instead of rough sawn timber and stone, we have installed materials with more of a finished quality, appropriate to the urban office environment.

Tawa timber veneer panelling is used for the walls and ceiling in the reception and boardroom, Limestone for the floor tiles and reception counter front. This is complemented with splashes of colour used as a feature in the meeting rooms – Resene Wilderness – which can be seen from the reception through the glass partition walls.

To the open plan office, Resene Black White is used for the walls to keep the space light. Warm brown carpet is used throughout the office in keeping with the natural look. Resene Bittersweet is used on the office wall outside the staffroom. This feature colour also returns back into the staffroom which creates a sense that the wall is a single solid element that slots into the adjacent timber panelled wall.

The feature paint colours, Resene Wilderness and Resene Bittersweet, are reminiscent of tussock and flax bush colours and complement the natural materials, Tawa timber veneer and limestone and Resene Double Stonewall and Resene Triple Pavlova used on other surfaces.
