It’s easy to transform a plain window seat into a fabulous feature with a little bit of help from Resene.
Ways with wood with Mark Rayner – Project 72
Difficulty level: Moderate
To get the look: Mark papered the surrounding walls with Mason Handcrafted Wallpaper (‘Tosca’ design in Resene Half Nocturnal on a background of Resene Gold Dust).
Other ideas: For a pale grey effect paint the window seat with Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Silver Chalice.
Step one
Clean the old paintwork using Resene Interior Paintwork Cleaner, following manufacturer’s instructions.
Step two
Lightly sand the old paintwork to ‘key’ the surface.
Step three
Wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step four
Carefully stir the Resene Quick Dry.
Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the window seat and allow to dry.
Step six
Carefully stir the Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Half Nocturnal.
Step seven
Apply one coat of Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Half Nocturnal to the window seat and allow to dry.
Step eight
Apply a second coat of Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Half Nocturnal to the window seat and allow to dry.
