Wanganui Opera House
European opera houses have a well-established reputation for using rich, lavish colours, and New Zealand's last Victorian theatre, the Wanganui Opera House, is no exception to its northern hemisphere counterparts.
Repainted for its centenary, the Wanganui Opera House auditorium comes alive with a sumptuous palette of gold, purple, burgundy and green while its exterior scheme has been simplified using a three colour palette of metallic Resene Gold, Resene Black White and half-strength Resene Mist Grey.
The metallic effect on the exterior timber colonnades has been achieved using Resene Imperite IF 503 Gold followed by a coat of Uracryl 403 Clear for extra cleanability.
