Body work

Mark Rayner creates a simple "bronze" sculpture.

You will need:

To get the look: Buy the mannequin and use builders mix from Mitre 10 - it dries quickly so only mix a small amount each time.

Step 1 Step one
Fix both arms into position using construction glue. Allow to dry then fill gap around join with builders' filler.
Step 2 Step two
Using the builders' filler and putty knife, create a textured surface across the back of the torso.
Step 3 Step three
Build up surface texture around the neck and face, taking care not to obscure the features.
Step 4 Step four
Continue to build up surface texture across the chest and down each arm.
Step 5 Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry Primer. Allow to dry (at least two hours) then apply one generous coat of Resene Lumbersider in Resene Silk. Allow to dry.
Step 6 Step six
Apply two coats of Resene Enamacryl Resene Mystify, allowing each coat to dry thoroughly.
Step 7 Step seven
Using a dry brush, apply a light 'dusting' of Resene Enamacryl in Resene Optic. Don't try to cover the previous coat of paint - this is just to enhance the metallic effect.
Step 8 Step eight
Using a damp sponge, apply a little Resene FX Metallic Resene Blast Yellow, to create highlights in the hair, facial features and, very sparingly, across the shoulders and hands. Allow to dry thoroughly then apply two coats of Resene Concrete Clear.
