Bring some ordinary storage baskets to life using a few Resene testpots and some leafy house plants!
This would be a great school holiday project for the kids – let them create their own characters and pot their own plants.
Painted baskets - complete
A great kid's holiday project
You will need
Step 1: Plan your design. Sarah chose to paint cute cartoon animal faces on her baskets, but you could do abstract human faces or maybe even emojis! Find the centre of the basket and map out carefully with a marker pen where you will be painting.
Step 2: Paint your basket faces using small detail brushes and your chosen colours. Sarah used Resene testpots in Resene Nero, Resene Glamour Puss and Resene White to create the cartoon panda and mouse. It helps to keep your design simple and bold for a more effective result.
Step 3: Finally, pop some leafy house plants inside the baskets for a cute and fun hair effect!
Top tip: For extra shimmer and shine, try using Resene FX Metallic paint for part of your design.
