Whether you are staining new timber or rejuvenating an old deck, new Resene Kwila Timber Stain will transform your outdoor living area.
Everyone knows the benefits of using hardwood timbers outdoors – most notably, they won’t rot. But over time, even kwila and cedar can become badly weathered and lose their appeal.
Now there’s an easy way to restore such surfaces. New Resene Kwila Timber Stain was developed for exterior timber decks and furniture – and it’s just as suitable for new timbers as old.
Resene marketing manager Karen Warman says the stain adds colour and enhances the timber while still allowing the natural grain to come through. However, as stains are transparent, the final finish colour will depend on the nature of the timber being stained. Stains applied to light woods will appear much stronger and brighter in colour than stains applied to dark wood.
Resene Kwila Timber Stain can be applied using a brush, spray or roller. As with other wood stains, the finish may require maintenance after two summers.
“Performance is related to the depth of the stain applied,” says Warman. “Light applications and dressed surfaces may require maintenance sooner, while heavier applications and rough-sawn surfaces will require less maintenance.”
