Memories of our place. Evoking memories from the past and present and look at how connect to us.

Background to mural creation:
The mural was designed to create and interesting story/memories around the pool changing rooms and building within view of the main road. A digital separation and projection method of painting photographic images by hand.

Ahipara beach
Left: Aroha mai, aroha atu. Love received, love returned. Right: He manako te kourai kore ai. Do not set your heart on things. Crayfish have ears and can hear the boastful diver.

Ahipara mountain
Whaia te iti kahurangi ki te tuohu koe me he maunga teitei. Seek the treasure you value most dearly if you bow your head, let it be to a lofty mountain.

Left: Ka pu te ruha, ka hao te rangatahi. As the old net withers another is remade. Right: Ehara taku toa, he takitahi, he toa takitini. My success should not be bestowed onto me alone as it was not individual success but success of a collective.
