Mural Masterpieces - Waikanae Beach

Mural theme:
Contemporary art design beach theme; it depicts the times through a day from sunrise to sunset, showing the many colours of the beautiful beach.

Background to mural creation:
Kate and Diane are local artists and wanted to give something back to the community in the form of an arts project and at the same time create an event that the community could participate in, take ownership of and have pride in. Each wall was painted individually. The design was applied by chalk and then the black lines painted. Members of the community came and helped fill in the colour.
