“As soon as I saw Resene Amped, my mind associated the fiery colour with that of lava. When I think of lava, I think of the power, the energy and the unstoppable force at the core of volcanoes.

The core of my life is my family because of the strong support it has given me the power to achieve and explore my creative dreams.

I come from a creative family of six – my dad is an inventor, my mum is a renovator, my sisters are musicians, and my brother is an engineer. When we come together it is chaos, but it is chaotic good. “Each of us possess the freedom to act independently but when we are together it is like a series of explosions – ideas, solutions, inventions – we amp each other up.

I want me design to represent the power of a volcanic eruption starting with sharp edges of the bodice and the belt resembling the jagged edges of an erupted mountain.

I have incorporated boning into the core of my bodice to quite literally represent a strong support. The flowing split trousers are inspired by the power and energy of molten rock, flowing from the earth’s core.

I have created a design that makes the wearer feel amped, fired up – a force to be reckoned with.
