"My inspiration was the natural, rough and beautiful aesthetics of gems and crystals. The beautiful colours that crystals and gems have, the way that they have a smooth edge then a jagged rough side represents who Maya lives in a smooth, jaded and closed off structured environment, then she falls free into a colourful dream full of texture and movement. It's a juxtaposition.

The dreamy freefalling colour is irresistible to her. The panels through the bodice and skirt are like perfectly cut gems. Maya is a gem in a Turbo City, a true diamond in the rough."
