Colour: Resene Cabaret

"I was inspired be the name of my Resene paint colour. I took interest in cabaret inspired photo shoots and feminine silhouettes. As cabaret is a performance art, I wanted the garment to be slightly dramatic and also look feminine.

The dress has a full knee-length skirt with fitted bodice. The bodice is boned and panelled with centre front and centre back seams. The panels make a feature of the different patterns/colours that were on the fabric.

The jacket is short sleeve and fitted to the waist. It has a peplum from the waist with inverted pleats to add volume. This provides a vivid silhouette and feature that follow the shape of the dress underneath and ties in with the inspiration."
