"Inspiration for the skirt came from Maya's story wandering past deep forest pools Maya happens upon her reflection and finds herself transported to a frozen arctic world. The ruffles and layers came from ripples of water frozen, representing the frozen world.
The bodice shaping is inspired by the mythical forest that looked like hills surrounding Maya. The open back portrays a sign of freedom."
