Colour: Resene Red Letter

"The colour sari I have is called Red Letter, this is a bright pink colour that helps portray the feeling of happiness, freedom and strength. I have called the garment Red Letter Day.

This Red Letter Day was like no other. When Maya got up she heard birds singing sweeter than they have before. Their song warmed her heart and gave her courage.

She couldn't help but hum along as she got ready for the day, feeling both excited and nervous. As she steps out of the apartment Maya feels like she is finally shedding the confinements and shackles of her structured life that has built up around her and slowly letting people she her for who she is, not who they expect her to be.

As she is set free and emerges from her old way of life, she is impacted by the bright reds and other vibrant colours surrounding her. These inspire her to run against the crowd and stand out from the rest of society as she runs into the freedom she has always desired."
