Resene Art Action


Whether 1 foot tall or two, by brush or by finger, children love painting. To nurture this creativity, Resene have developed the Resene Art Action range of student acrylic, art and poster and tempera paints designed for little kids and big kids alike. Ideal for use in the home, office or classroom.

The product range was developed out of a need to offer a range of art paints that perform better than those currently on the market. Following extensive testing, the Resene Art Action range was born as a higher coverage, consistent colour and gloss, and easier to wash off clothing option to existing art paints. Products have been scientifically tested to ensure that they are safe for children to use, giving all parents and caregivers peace of mind.

Available in a mix of sizes from 80ml to 500ml, three different variants, and a selection of intermixable colours, budding artists have lots to keep their fingers and brushes busy.

A permanent, durable acrylic paint designed specifically for general use in home, classroom and business artwork. Suitable for use by both children and adults. If a higher quality paint is required, use Resene Art Action Student Acrylic. Resene Art Action Tempera is recommended for younger children.

Designed specifically for use on home or classroom artwork. Ideal for younger children (3 years or older). A good value option for non-permanent artwork, posters and pictures that will be protected from moisture. If a higher quality, more permanent paint is required, use Resene Art Action Student Acrylic.

Resene Paints Ltd commissioned a toxicological study on the Art Action range by Dr WA Temple, Director, New Zealand National Poisons Centre. The Executive Summary of his report follows as assurance that the Resene range of Art Action products is non-hazardous.

Executive Summary

A toxicological assessment of the new Resene Art Action poster paint lines was undertaken to determine any human hazards that these products may present.

Resene Paints Ltd provided the composition of the Poster Paint Lines. For each ingredient of the products, information on toxicity was derived from Material Safety Data Sheets and the Registry of Toxic Effects of Chemical Substances.

The analysis of the paint compositions provided revealed that none of the formulations would trigger the HSNO classification for Class 6 substances. Consequently, all the formulations can be considered as 'non-hazardous' according to these criteria.

Conforms to ASTM D-4236.
