Fusion5’s new Auckland office was a relocation project that embraced a new way of working within an office design that closely aligned with Fusion5’s brand. The resulting space is awash with colour and vitality.
Fusion5 wanted an office that reflected their vibrant brand. It needed to offer flexible working opportunities to its 80 staff, yet also maintain confidentiality for client interactions. Now the office, located on level 16 of a key Auckland CBD building, delivers all this – and more.
Stack delivered creative design services, project management and relocation management services to create Fusion5’s vision.
The building at 34 Shortland Street was well known to the Stack team. Thanks to this lengthy experience, Stack were able to plan how best to utilise the existing floorplate to maximise the wonderful views of the Waitemata Harbour that the space offered. Now views of the harbour are placed at the heart of Fusion5’s space, for enjoyment by staff and visitors alike.
The finished result is a workplace that evokes collaboration, colour and fun. Predominantly open plan, the snake-shaped floor utilises both existing and new furniture solutions with a healthy percentage of the desking being ‘sit to stand’.
The fit-out reinforces the colours of the Fusion5 logo and branding including colours such as Resene Celery and Resene Subzero along with custom colours created by Resene, against a blackened white backdrop of Resene Alabaster and Resene Fuscous Grey.
At the heart of the space is the café, where both staff and visitors can enjoy the surrounding harbour views. The occupying feature screen (inspired by Fusion5’s logo) continues the kaleidoscope of colours and acts as a way finder from the reception and meeting areas.
Staff are now easily able to host their meetings in a vibrant environment that bypasses any confidentiality concerns. Or they can choose to take advantage of the six meeting rooms situated throughout the space.
Overall, Stack delivered a workplace that is open and inspiring, and a fun place to work without neglecting any of the fundamental aspirations of achieving business effectiveness. A clever combination of creative design, innovative space planning, and a highly professional project management process that achieved its budget and programme aims provided Fusion5 with a business environment that now is appreciated by all.
