Colours for buildings within the Waikato Coastal Zone
The proposed Waikato District Plan recognises the natural character of the coastal environment as a matter of national importance.
Most buildings in the Coastal Zone require resource consent as a Controlled Activity, with control reserved over:
Such controls are designed to maintain the natural character and amenity of the coastal environment.
The exterior colour of new buildings (and alterations to existing buildings) is an important consideration for the Coastal Zone environment. Colours that are sympathetic with, and complementary to, the coastal environment are deemed appropriate for this zone.
The following Resene colours identify acceptable colours for the Coastal Zone of the Waikato District.
