Resene Pohutukawa on kitchen wallTravel inspiration
Josie travelled to Ghana in West Africa and while away visited Mardi Gras in New Orleans with her husband. She was inspired by the red, yellow and green she saw all around her on her travels. She wanted to liven up their home but also have it make sense with what was around them - flax, Pohutukawa and the ocean.

The hardest colour to find was the yellow and in their pursuit for just the right colour they bought a lot of testpots. They finally decided on Resene New Orleans because it was warm at night, fun in the daylight and a perfect reminder of the trip. The red and green (Resene Pohutukawa and Resene Topspin) were ideal companions with their surroundings and the three colours work well together. The wall at the back of the living space/kitchen is finished in Resene Pohutukawa, which is simply stunning with the garden behind it.
