Smooth acceleration and deceleration with a minimum of vibration and noise are key features.

The laboratory forms the hub of the system.

The glass partitions in the nurses station feature the Monz suite in a Matt Natural finish.

Extensive glazing and a central atrium maximise natural light.

Timber panels, recessed lighting and a neutral décor help to create a calm, peaceful feeling in the hospital chapel.

In designing the new Auckland City Hospital, architects Jasmax wanted to establish a sense of simplicity and clarity. The complexity of the brief, the constraints of the site and the requirements of the staff, public and patients were the greatest challenges. Here, an internal bridge with glass balustrading helps orientate visitors and staff while providing views of the central atrium.

Lamson Engineering supplied and installed an air tube transport system. The system provides a fast, efficient method of transporting patient samples and blood products around the hospital. The air tubes help to reduce staff movements. This in turn improves patient services and promotes more efficient work-flows.

DeNeefe Signing Systems was the signage consultant for the new Auckland City Hospital. Here, the level five directory board clearly and efficiently guides visitors, patients and staff.

Potter Interior Systems and USG supplied DONN brand suspended ceiling grid throughout the hospital. Made in New Zealand for seismic conditions, the grid is a two-way suspended system that supports acoustic ceiling tiles.

Aluminium Luxaflex Venetian blinds inserted between double glazing maintain a high level of sterility in parts of the hospital. These blinds are often specified in high-security areas such as observation cells in detention

The Slimline® blinds are opened and closed using a control rod operated by a special knob on the window framing.

Chain-operated, the blinds’ fabric was cut using a special ultrasonic technique to prevent fraying.

Supplied and anodised by AAL Group of companies, this 89mm steel stud-based system was specified by the architects for its combination of aesthetic appeal and durability.

New Zealand Window Shades was commissioned to supply and install Luxaflex Panorama® Sunscreen roller blinds to various rooms in the new Auckland City Hospital.

Active Rehab Equipment has supplied patient-lifting equipment to Auckland Hospital for many years.

For the new Auckland City Hospital, the company supplied and installed ceiling hoists that can lift patients that weigh up to 360kg.

Active Rehab Equipment supplies and installs ceiling hoist units in homes, schools and hospitals.

Supporting the interior wall linings, the USG steel stud and track system was used extensively throughout the hospital. Specific design and hole positioning were required to meet the many service needs of the project.
