Background to mural creation:
At 46.5 metres in length and 3.5 metres high and often plagued by bouts of graffiti, the Eastern wall of Walter Nash Stadium offered an impressive canvas for a mural. Students from Taita College were enlisted for their artistic talents facilitated by an artists sponsored by the Lower Hutt City Council. 5 months after completion the area is still graffiti free and resplendent in its bright sporting theme.
