Background to mural creation:
This mural features the school values – RISE – Resilience, Integrity, Sense of self and Empathy. The orange droplets represent the knowledge that the teachers share. The local river, Te Awa kairangi flows through the mural. The maunga is the local mountain and the diamonds represent how precious every culture at Fergusson Intermediate is. The koru represents new beginnings as well as growth, strength and peace. The two plants represent the year 7 and year 8’s growth of knowledge over their two year journey at Fergusson Intermediate.
