Sponsorship


Resene Automotive receive many requests for donations, support and sponsorship from a wide variety of charities, organisations and individuals.

If the correct channel is followed, each request is carefully assessed to determine if it meets RALI’s sponsorship, marketing and community objectives, and in addition, budgetary constraints limit the number of opportunities that we can undertake.

All sponsorship applications are evaluated according to the criteria set out below which you should respond to in your proposal. It takes three to four weeks to assess applications and a response will be sent to you once your proposal has been evaluated.

Our key sponsorships currently include:

  • Collision Repair Association Annual Conference
  • Emirates Team New Zealand
  • Westpac helicopter
  • Worldskills New Zealand

How RALI allocates sponsorships
Resene Automotive choose sponsorships that fit our sponsorship criteria. Although we’re constantly reviewing new opportunities, our sponsorship budget is split according to 4 main areas of support, and also according to area or region.

We have four areas of sponsorship opportunities:

  • Industry – Sponsorship opportunities that support the industry we trade in. Our annual support of the Collision Repair Association Conference and more recently WorldSkills New Zealand reflects this.
  • National – these are sponsorship opportunities that affect the company as a whole such as Emirates New Zealand.
  • Regional /Local – Branches have the opportunity to support regional activities and specific customers.
  • Community – As a responsible kiwi-owned company, RALI support charities and organisations that service our communities such as our long time support of the Westpac Helicopter.

Funding is allocated from a central budget and decisions are made by the Marketing Team in our Head Office.

How to apply for RALI sponsorship
Firstly, please read our guidelines to see whether your opportunity fits our sponsorship criteria.

After collating all necessary information, send your sponsorship request & full details by email or post: Sponsorship Proposals, PO Box 62282, Mount Wellington, Auckland 1641.

Remember to make sure your proposal contains your telephone number and email address.

Sponsorship guidelines
Please review the following RALI sponsorship guidelines prior to submitting your application for sponsorship. Applications need to be submitted using the Sponsorship Request Form.

When considering applications for sponsorship, we assess whether they will meet the following objectives for RALI:

  • To gain maximum brand awareness cost effectively
  • To reach our target markets
  • To generate leads
  • To provide the opportunity for RALI staff to build relationships with existing & potential clients
  • To be front of mind as New Zealand’s leading refinish supplier & raise our profile
  • To have a presence in the key industries that we deal with

Sponsorship benefits
Sponsorship benefits for RALI should include some or all of the following, depending on the level & type of sponsorship:

  • Official recognition as a key sponsor and/or naming rights to the sponsorship/event
  • RALI stand / marquee / display space / trade site opportunities
  • RALI branding opportunities (e.g. RALI logo on communications & collateral relating to the sponsorship; such as tickets, emails, faxes, adverts; signage & other event branding).
  • Exposure & recognition on the sponsored organisation’s website
  • An opportunity for a RALI Technical Specialist to do a presentation / seminar,
  • RALI staff to present awards
  • Entitlements to distribute RALI brochures / collateral
  • Complimentary tickets to the event/s
  • Access to the sponsored organisation database for direct mail/contact opportunities.
  • Opportunities for RALI to provide editorial /adverts for communications (magazines, newsletters etc)
  • Complimentary invitations to Awards dinners / sponsors functions
  • Leads from prize draws / attendees at events
  • RALI logo clearly visibly on clothing / vehicles / merchandise etc options
  • Option to attend the organisation’s annual conference / AGM
  • Photographs from the events
  • Decals as supplied for placement on your vehicle on the areas as highlighted on the attached profile.
  • Decals as supplied for placement on the right hand side of your helmet and inside the vehicle in a position to ensure exposure on Race-Cam throughout the season.
  • One guest appearance at a Town-based promotion on a mutually agreed date during the season.
  • First class presentation on behalf of Resene Automotive & Light Industrial

Please note: this list is not exhaustive and other benefits can be requested or negotiated. RALI will confirm sponsorship by an official contract to be signed by both parties. Sponsored organizations will be asked to provide breakdown of how monies are allocated and verification that the benefits have been received.

Other factors we consider when evaluating sponsorship proposals:

  • Do we already have a sponsorship in that industry sector/geographical area?
  • Is it cost efficient? Do we have budget?
  • Has high impact, relevance and visibility
  • How much will the leverage costs be?
  • Do we have the resource to support the sponsorship?
  • Demonstrates the ability to maximise the funds provided
  • Does the timing conflict with other business interests?
  • Is the sponsorship already supported by one of our competitors?
  • Does it have the support of the RALLI Management Team?
  • Does the organisation have good governance with key contacts who will maintain a good working relationship with RALI?
  • Will it support our product offering?
