“A city alive with anticipation where activity flourishes under neon lights”

“The sharp sulphur yellow and pretty sweet-sour and citrus undertones” is how Resene described Spring Fever. When I first saw the name and then the colour I was instantly inspired by the flora and fauna of spring from the blooming flowers to the prancing deer.

While doing research I was inspired by Alexander McQueen's exhibition “Savage Beauty” with all the beautiful ways he made deer horns and butterflies look beautiful and artistic. I made my mood board to represent spring as a whole. I incorporated all the different shapes and silhouettes of all flora and fauna of spring for my design while trying to include aspects of “Savage Beauty”. With my colour of Resene Spring Fever the colour is vibrant and electrifying. I wanted my design of the jumpsuit with petal like detail to be simplistic and minimalist but also to be extravagant and artistic, ready for the runway.
