Colour: Resene She’ll Be Right
“I was given Resene’s paint colour named She’ll Be Right – the witty and slightly ironic name of this paint was my main source of inspiration. I took the name quite literally; my mood started off with right angles. This developed into playing with line and the shapes that could be made - with crisp silk and sharp angles, what look could I create?
She’ll Be Right is powerful. It’s for a bold woman who isn’t afraid to make a statement. The asymmetry of my garment helps create the strong, edgy look for my cocktail dress.
I chose to use the gorgeous blue of Resene She'll Be Right for my entire garment, it is such a bold and gorgeous colour that I wanted to make it the focus, while giving my garment depth by pleating and layering the fabric which created rich shadows and bright highlights.”
