She hears of the eccentric King Ludwig, a king that spent his life pursuing beauty through building elaborate fairy-tale castles, hunting in the black forest collecting swans and attending the opera.

She dances through the woods, the autumn leaves crunching underfoot as she frolics and sings in her special orange silk dress. Anahera wants to meet this King Ludwig; he shared her love for the pursuit of beauty and adventure as he dared to leave his council despite the demands placed on their poor young king who wanted to see the world and build the next Versailles.

Anahera arrives at the pond where he was murdered and found in a swan boat, the country tired of his carefree nature. She cries at the edge of the pond as she admires the beauty that he created. As she weeps, a man in an orange suit followed by a flock of swans comforts her and invites her to a party in the castle. Anahera is enchanted by the man’s beauty and bold choice of colour. She takes his arm and together they walk to the castle, to eat and drink too much and dance the evening away.

My Resene colour is Daredevil. My design was inspired by the life of the eccentric Bavarian King Ludwig II. He spent his life and royal revenue building elaborate fairy tale castles in the Bavarian woods.”
