Resene Wanted perfectly matched the name, it is a nice warm colour which reminded me of the warmth and feeling I felt from my mother who nurtured me and who worked her tail off to look after me and my siblings. She is my main inspiration for this outfit and the details symbolise her and her love for me.

The piping on the bodice and pin tucks in the pants symbolises DNA, an unbroken chain that connects family and a sense of belonging and support. The choker symbolises warmth. When I was young, mum would read me bedtime stories and I would fall asleep gently resting my hand on her neck. The fringing on the hems and choker remind me of grandma’s house where there was a lampshade with fringing I would always play with and thought was quite cool.

My Resene garment is full of meaning and has a story attached which brings feelings of love and warmth and of hope for the future.“
