Anahera feels trapped by her small-town existence, surrounded by the pressure to blend in. Wanting to rebel against the ordinary and be unique in a tide of uniformity.

How can she break away from the confines of her community, for something bigger, brighter and more alive than she has ever experienced?

Fashion is Anahera’s calling and the human body is her canvas to embellish as she pleases. Her destiny is bold, beautiful and brave, and she WILL have the world in her hands.

Armed with her passport in one hand and her courage in the other, she sets off on an impromptu trip to New York City.

The colours of Time Square inspire her. A bright green glowing sign ignites passion and the inspiration of boundary pushing colour that demands attention. The rich green dances around her legs with new life and stimulating energy that awakens every fibre of her body.

Where else but a fashion capital of the world will Anahera truly be able to express her creative talents? Here she reinvents herself as the next big thing in fashion. Turning heads, her futuristic appearance makes a statement before she opens her mouth. This is Anahera! Dynamic and free!

Like a new seedling with the right environment, Anahera begins to grow. Her feet root themselves into the streets of The Big Apple. Bustling crowds sweep her into the exciting unknown. She looks to her future and knows that she is where she was always meant to be.

Inspiration: Stimulating colour. Space-wear. Futuristic.

'Resene Impromptu' is extremely bright and alert therefore I wanted a bold design that was out of the ordinary to really accentuate how stimulating my colour is. I have chosen to make a cropped cape top that is supported by boning and heavy weight fusing with high neck and cut-out shoulders; and cropped flared pants with a waist that matches the neck of the top. It also has angled panels that open into cut-outs on the thigh and below the knee. A long thin strip of material will be sewn down the sides to keep the cut-outs in shape. I chose this outfit because I wanted to put a futuristic twist on two otherwise normal pieces of clothing.

Theme: Sharp lines/angles and geometric shapes.

Mood: Being constricted and then breaking free to pursue your dreams.

The mood of my design is shown through the stiff and restricting top that reflects Anahera feeling trapped in her small town; then the loose cut-out pants reflect Anahera once she has arrived in New York to truly be herself.
