Colour: Resene Cruising

Resene Crusing

“Under the moonlight of the night, the shimmering water glowed of soft slate blues and lavender hues. The music of Anahera’s heart sang loud as the lights of the passing by cities danced in the night. As Anahera stepped off a yacht headed from the French Riviera, she infused a taste of sophistication and elegance to the streets of Paris.

The name of my Resene paint colour is Cruising. Something about the shapes and lines of the sails of the French Riviera style boats create really captured my attention creating a luxurious and glamorous feel to the mood. This took me to part of Anahera’s journey where she is alive and free from limitations, living the life she has always wanted.

I wanted to create a glamorous gown that has the added taste of sophistication and elegance. The panels on my garment allowed me to sculpt my fabric to show the contours of the female body and through the use of draping I was able to create shapes and lines that frame the figure, highlighting the décolletage with the shoulders and the drape around the hip to emphasise the curve of the female hips.”
