Painting three ways - projects from Woman's Day magazine
Have some frivolous fun this Easter with these charming ideas from Emily Somerville-Ryan.
What you’ll need:
Instructions:
Show the Bunny where to deliver the stash this Easter by making these fun rabbit pockets. Cut the top 1/3 off the top of a paper plate in a straight line to create a semi-circle. Then cut bunny ears out of the off-cuts. Paint the semi-circle, two ears and another complete paper plate with two coats of your favourite Resene colour. I’ve used Resene Sail, Resene Wonderland and Resene Princess as my base colours. Paint two round cheeks onto the semi-circle piece and oval shapes inside both ears using Resene Pattens Blue for the blue bunny, Resene Twilight for the purple bunny and Resene Pink Lace for the pink bunny. Above the cheeks, paint two round circles for eyes using Resene Bianca and when dry two small pupils inside the eyes using Resene Charcoal. Cut four 25cm lengths of rafia and fix them like whiskers to the middle of the cheeks using a glue gun. Fix a small pom pom to the centre of the raffia with a glue gun to form the nose. Glue the outer edge of the semi-circle to the complete paper plate and the ears to the top using a glue gun. Fill the pockets with Easter treats and present at the breakfast table.

Instructions:
Draw 8cm and 2cm egg shapes onto card and cut out. Draw a zig-zag across the lower third of the 8cm eggs and cut out. Paint wooden pegs and 8cm eggs in Resene Sail, Resene Wonderland and Resene Princess and the 2cm eggs with Resene Energy Yellow. On the 2cm eggs, paint two eyes with Resene Charcoal and a beak with Resene Adrenalin. Glue the 2cm egg to the bottom part of the 8cm egg and then to the bottom of a peg and the top part of the 8cm egg to the top of the peg. Present to the kids on Easter morning and have a peek-a-boo puppet show.
