How to paint plant pots for mothers day gifts

Instructions:

Up-cycle and gather together an assortment of pots in different shapes and sizes. Paint each pot with two coats of Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer. For terracotta pots use Resene Aquapel & Terracotta Sealer instead. Once dry, decide on a slightly different pattern for each pot and use Resene washi masking tape to help create any straight lines and patterns you wish to make on your pots. We have used sunny, happy, Resene colours for Mother’s Day, like Resene Glorious, Resene Paper Doll, Resene Bay Leaf, Resene Switched On, Resene Cut Glass and Resene Hippie Blue. Peel back washi tape and re-tape once dry between colours. Once thoroughly dry, plant each pot with your mother’s favourite plants and succulents and display on the kitchen table.

2. Loving letters

What you'll need:

  • Recycled paper rolls
  • Resene testpots
  • Paintbrush
  • Scissors
  • Pencil

Make a Happy Mother's Day message

Instructions:

Collect together and recycle at least 15 small paper rolls. With a pencil, draw one letter of your Mother’s Day message on each roll and cut out with some small, sharp scissors. Carefully paint two coats of Resene paint on the outside of each letter, leaving the inside unpainted. We have used Resene Glorious, Resene Paper Doll, Resene Bay Leaf, Resene Switched On, Resene Cut Glass and Resene Hippie Blue. Once dry, display with balloons and confetti to celebrate Mum’s special day!

3. Family spoons
