Make vases from egg shells and carton

Instructions:

Paint two coats of Resene paint in a variety of colours onto a group of large eggs. We have used Resene Glorious, Resene Cosmos, Resene Sonique, Resene Cut Glass and Resene Nepal. Once completely dry, tap the top of each egg gently with a teaspoon until a small crack appears. With a sharp knife or scalpel push the blade into the crack and carefully cut the top off each egg. Drain the inside of the egg into a bowl and use for an omelette or scrambled eggs later. Rinse and leave to dry. To create the base, cut out the bottom of an egg carton and paint with Resene Half Black White. Finally fill each egg shell with water and decorate with pretty Easter blooms.

2. Carton chicks

What you'll need:

  • Resene testpots
  • Egg cartons
  • Feathers
  • Orange card
  • Craft glue
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Needle

Make carton chicks for easter

Instructions:

Cut out the cups from an egg carton, roughly 3cm from the bottom. Keep the four corner cups for the top half of your chicks and use the rest for the bottom half. Glue the two cups together with craft glue and leave to dry. Paint each chick in two coats of Resene paint. We have used Resene Glorious, Resene Cosmos, Resene Sonique, Resene Cut Glass and Resene Nepal. Once dry, pierce a hole in either side of your chick and one hole through the top with a large needle. Trim three feathers and push them through the holes. Paint a small diamond of card in Resene Daredevil and fold in half into a triangle. Glue to the front with craft glue. Finally, using a thin tipped brush, paint on two eyes with Resene Double Foundry.

3. Easter jars

What you'll need:

  • Recycled jars
  • Resene testpots
  • Resene WB Smooth Surface Sealer
  • Super glue
  • Plastic animals
  • Paintbrush

Make easter themed animal storage jars

Instructions:

Collect up an assortment of jars and some small plastic Easter themed animals. Using Super glue, fix an animal to the centre of each lid. Once dry, coat the entire lid with Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer. When the undercoat is thoroughly dry, paint each lid with 2 coats of Resene paint. We have used Resene Glorious, Resene Cosmos, Resene Sonique, Resene Cut Glass and Resene Nepal. Once dry, fill each jar with Easter treats.
