Weekend DIY with Mark Rayner - Project 45

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Bucket, Garden hose with clean running water, Paintbrush, Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Bombshell, Resene Moss & Mould Killer, Resene Quick Dry, Resene Timber and Deck Wash, Rubber gloves, Stiff-bristled brush

To get the look: To get the look: Mark painted the adjoining garage with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Bokara Grey.

Other ideas: A similar look could also be achieved by staining the gate with Resene Waterborne Woodsman tinted to Resene Totem Pole.

How to paint a wooden gate

 
Step 1Step one
Mix one part Resene Moss & Mould Killer to five parts clean water.
Step 2Step two
Soak the gate with the solution and leave for 48 hours.
Step 3Step three
Mix one part Resene Timber and Deck Wash to three parts clean water.
Step 4Step four
Scrub the gate vigorously with the solution using a stiff-bristled brush.
Step 5Step five
Rinse thoroughly with clean water and allow gate to dry.
Step 6Step six
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the gate and allow two hours to dry.
Step 7Step seven
Apply one coat of Resene Bombshell to the gate, allowing two hours to dry.
Step 8Step eight
Apply a second coat of Resene Bombshell to the gate, allowing two hours to dry.
