Orana Esplanade, Victoria Point
This project is a renovation to bathroom and hallway using all Resene colour paints and finishes.
I am a student of interior decorating. I started off this project with this bathroom and wardrobe. I organised to remove the wall of the wardrobe and extend the bathroom and toilet creating a more stylish and open look. I have changed the window to a full length wide window to basically bring the outside roofed garden inside, achieving a zen effect (attainment of enlightenment) or calm area. From the toilet or bath or anywhere inside of this room.
The floors were retiled and shower was relocated to where the wardrobe was. The doorway to the original bathroom was changed to the wall and the wardrobe opening is now used for the doorway to the room. A cabinet was redesigned by myself and the cabinetmaker used Resene paint colour in two pak. Double sinks and silver and white accessories complete the look. This bathroom has a ying and yang effect with the colours and accessories that have been used. The full length horizontal mirror has bought light and reflection into the room. All in all a pleasure to enter. The colours used have a muted relaxed complementary hue.
The hallway leading to the second bathroom, laundry and bedrooms has kept the same basic shell but is now redecorated in a new colour palette. The floor coverings match those used in the bathroom. The neutral hall shading is joined by a touch of colour on the recessed corners and end wall creating a relaxed thoroughfare through this home.
Colours used: Resene Half Masala, Resene Half Sidewinder, Resene House White, Resene Lemon Grass.
