The Ganda Home

Christchurch

The brief was to create a harmonious beauty but with functionality.

The Ganda Home

The pocket of Merivale where this property nestles is historically one of grand villas and heritage houses. This made it important that the house sat comfortably within its surroundings, and being located on a corner site, interesting from every view. The exterior colour choice had to provide aesthetic warmth and statement. The Resene Truffle and Resene Double Truffle selected provides this warmth, while the Resene CoolColour Mine Shaft displays statement. Resene Black White is used on soffits.

The brief was to create a harmonious beauty but with functionality. The client expected each and every space to be stand out while expressing the purpose of the space emotively. This has been achieved by combining warm neutrals with monochromatic textures and a range of wallpapers from Resene. Introducing natural materials has created an organic rawness that will stand the test of time. These materials are teamed with Resene SpaceCote Kitchen & Bathroom in Resene White Pointer and Resene Half Alabaster in wet areas, and Resene Zylone Sheen in Resene White Pointer on interior walls.

The home is edgy and interesting, but does not have a showhome feel… it feels like a home to be enjoyed and lived in for many years to come.
