How to make your deck look like new

The following set of photos show quite a remarkable transformation.

The deck and pool had largely been untouched for over 20 years and the deck in particular was starting to look a bit of an eyesore.

The owner saturated the pine deck with Resene Moss & Mould Killer before waterblasting to remove the mould and accumulated extraneous material from the surface.

This was followed by two coats of Resene Woodsman Decking Stain CoolColour™ tinted to Resene Bushtrack using a brush and the Lambswool deck pad.

The age and condition of the pine (lots of cracks and very, very dry and porous) meant more product was used than expected, however the property owners are thrilled with the result and how their deck has been transformed.

The fibreglass pool was also redone and the owner replaced the traditional pool lights with LED bulbs that change colour. The rejuvenated deck and pool, and the new lighting, has transformed the area.
