Built around the turn of the last century, this historic villa has been extensively restored, with panelling highlighted in subtle Resene shades.
Choosing a colour scheme is one of the more tricky aspects of any new home or renovation project. And it can be even more difficult when you are looking for neutrals to enhance a particular look.
Resene Thorndon Cream and Resene Linen highlight the panelling in this renovated house.
The panelling in the open-plan family living area of this historic house, which was re-designed by architect Andrew Sexton, was painted in Resene Linen and Resene Thorndon Cream from The Range Whites & Neutrals fandeck. The subtle contrast between the shades highlights the architectural detailing, yet fits with the owners’ desire for a soft colour palette.
Karen Warman, Resene marketing manager, says the Resene whites and neutrals palettes collection offers a wide range of shades, from white through to black. “These palettes take the hard work out of colour selection, presenting the most popular neutrals and up to six strength variations, so you can easily create a tone-on-tone colour scheme.”Warman says Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen is recommended for broad-wall areas. This waterborne, low-odour, Environmental Choice-approved paint provides a durable, washable finish and is well suited to renovations as its reduced sheen minimises surface imperfections.
