How to paint your own pretty jewellery bowl

Old wooden bowls are perfect for storing your jewellery on the vanity, like this one painted in Resene Wax Flower.

  1. Clean your bowl inside and out and leave it to dry.
  2. Paint your bowl inside and out using your chosen Resene colour.
  3. Once dry, lightly sand the exterior of the bowl to bring out the interesting carved pattern.

Top tip: Use a combination of two Resene colours – one for the inside of the bowl and one for the outside of the bowl and rim. Or use a contrasting Resene testpot colour to pick out key details in the design.
