Habitat bright ideas with Fleur Thorpe – DIY projects
Swirl paint in your own selection of colours to make a set of terrariums to house your on trend succulents, or you could design an ombre look.
Wall colour – Resene Cararra, Photo ledge – Resene Half Rice Cake
Step 1: Start by using a teaspoon to spoon some of your Resene paint into the bottom of the terrarium. Fleur put in 2-3 teaspoons of paint – you can put in more or less, depending on how far up the sides you want the paint to go. Put a different paint colour in each terrarium or pour two or three colours into each terrarium for a multicolour effect.
Step 2: Hold the terrarium and tilt it slowly back and forth, allowing the paint to run up the sides. Once you are happy with the extent that the paint has run, allow it to dry for a couple of days.

Step 3: Once dry, spoon in some cactus/succulent potting mix and plant a favourite succulent.
Top tip: For an ombre style effect start with two testpots of a darker colour and Resene white. Start with the dark paint, then progressively add the same amount of white to the colour for each terrarium. This will give you a progressively lighter terrarium colour for a tone on tone look.
