How to make your own DIY drippy vases

Create with paint! Projects from habitat by Resene

Upcycle some old vases with an on–trend dripped effect. It’s a great way to rejuvenate vases if they are looking the worse for wear or the colour no longer suits your colour palette.

You will need

Instructions

  1. If your vases have a smooth finish, i.e. if they are glazed or glass, coat them with Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer.
  2. Paint the vases in your choice of base colour – Nikki used Resene Cosmos. Leave to dry.
  3. Turn the vases upside down, and steady any vases with a narrow neck by placing them in a plastic pottle. Pour your contrasting colour slowly over the base and let it drip down the sides. Nikki used a selection of dark burgundies.

Top tip:  Make fun pots for kids with FX Nightlight glow-in-the-dark paint. Simply drip it on as the last colour for a fun glow-in-the-dark effect to give your children something to look at as they drift off to sleep.
