Paint a rainbow fan

Keep the home colourful and cool during the heat of summer, with this rainbow fan painted using Resene testpots. Who doesn’t love a rainbow in their living room?

You will need: Desk fan, pencil and ruler, Resene testpots in Resene Dizzy Lizzy, Resene Outrageous, Resene Paris Daisy, Resene Poppy, Resene Pursuit, Resene Seeker and Resene Smitten, small art brushes, hair dryer.

Step by step instructions

Step 1
Step one
If your fan is already pieced together, deconstruct it so that you can paint directly onto the blades.
Step 2
Step two
Use the ruler and pencil to mark out six lines around the blades.
Step 3
Step three
Paint each block, starting from the base of the fan in this order: Resene Smitten, Resene Poppy, Resene Pursuit, Resene Outrageous, Resene Paris Daisy, Resene Dizzy Lizzy and Resene Seeker.
Step 4
Step four
To avoid the colours mixing, use the hair dryer to dry each colour before moving on to the next one.
Step 5
Step five
Once completely dry, piece the fan back together. Enjoy the colourful breeze!
